Megan arrived on time at 4:30 at 4423 Comet Trail and dropped us off at the Airport.  NO DRAMA at the airport, everything worked! Planes took off and arrived on time with our luggage and when we arrived at the Fort Lauderdale Airport, we saw a smiling face with a Viking Shirt, and we knew we were OK.

We were through Check in at Port Everglades by 11:30 and on the boat eating pizza, Corn Chowder and Gelato with Bob and Anna by noon. In our cabin by 1. Our luggage appeared and we were stowed and stoked by 3.

We ended the day with libations in the “Living Room” while listening to the upbeat sounds of a classical Piano.  We chatted with Frances, a nice lady from Winston-Salem, North Carolina about cruising (what else?)  Then a really tasty dinner at Manfredi’s, Viking’s upscale Italian restaurant.  Shirley had squid linguine with lobster and scallops! We are truly on an adventure!

We woke up this AM at 3:30 to get set and catch the plane and so we made it an early night.

Travel day

 Monday Jan 12 We stayed at Jessi’s last night. Carson had his 9th bday party yesterday and we attended along with Mike, his girls, Carson’s other Grandparents and Uncle. Much fun. Jessi dropped us off at the airport before 6am. It was an uneventful flight and got to the hotel at 1 and no rez. So we’re having lunch and waiting for Viking to fix things In the hotel room by 2

  January 9, 2026 The Package 4 days to go!  We received an e-mail from Viking notifying us that Montego Bay was off the schedule and replaced by Ocho Rios. This was due to Hurricane damage and not the war in Venezuela, although we are watching how that develops and keeping our fingers crossed and prayers said that cooler heads will prevail. Ocho Rios, like Montego Bay, is on the North shore of the island of Jamaica only about 50 miles to the East.  We will receive shore excursion information when we are on the Ship. Bob and Anna are flying into Ft Lauderdale a day early.  They have weather concerns.  Shirley and I are chancing our Atlanta connection works, and we make it to Ft. Lauderdale in time to meet our Viking Hosts.
